montreal.

phl to montreal.

we road tripped it to montreal labor day weekend 2012. we went with our good friends cristian and kat. kat was comped a two night hyatt hotel stay and was nice enough to ask us along. always down for traveling we were eager to go.

the weekend was such a whirlwind. i can’t remember what we did when but i remember everything we did do. we shopped down town. ate poutine and had microbrews at les 3 brasseurs. drank forty’s in old town and walked by the river. went to a club then walked back late night through different sections of the city. hiked to the top of mount royal and took in the views. ate pho and greek. went to piknic electronik and partied. took an adventure to the biosphere. went to a strip club to see if they really are the best. and yes they were pretty good.

montreal is filled with beauty around every corner, from architecture to the french language to the people. it really does deserve the nicknames cultural capital of the world, city of a hundred bell towers and la belle ville.

san diego.

phl to san.

january 2011 we went bicoastal. both virgins to the west coast, we flew out for the weekend to san diego. our excuse for going, chris was a part of a three person art show at distinction gallery. i was excited to put my feet in the pacific, warm my bones, and take in the views.

we left an early morning ice storm and arrived to early afternoon sun. rented a car and went right for pacific beach. put our feet in the ocean, warmed our bones, and took in the views. we ate at an outdoor bar and did some more exploring. we didn’t book a hotel ahead of time and were lucky enough to stay with chris’ friend from college for a night. we were introduced to new friends, danced in a bar, and slept on a couch.

we ate authentic mexican for breakfast, drove to escondido, went to stone brewery (tours were booked), and rented a motel.

after a nap we met up with friends, ate phil’s bbq, and went to the gallery opening. chris’s art looked awesome on the wall. tons of people came through. the free stone brewery beers were an added bonus. we met lots of cool people and had fun surrounded by the art.

our last day we grabbed in and out burger followed by del taco, drove through downtown san diego, saw petco park, dropped off the car and were on our way home.

a short but memorable trip.

atlanta.

phl to atl.

in july 2012 we made the trip for chris’ 29th. fun getaway with nothing planned and no business to attend to. rare for us. don’t get me wrong i love when we travel for chris’ art shows and it gives us the excuse to see new places and meet new people. but getting away with no agenda was nice. being food truck lovers we were lucky enough to get in on the day piedmont park was hosting the atlanta street food festival. we ate and drank and boy did we sweat. other highlights included relaxing by the pool in piedmont park, exploring with no destination, stumbling upon an art gallery, visiting the world famous clermont lounge, lots of eating, and drinking.
